My screenplay The North Puddle took 1st place in the family/animation division of the 2008 Screenwriting Expo.
The North Puddle was named a semifinalist in the Austin Film Festival A Tiny Miracle with a Fiberoptic Unicorn was named the winner in Stage West's Texas Playwriting Competition Congratulations to Randolph School, whose production of !Artistic Inspiration won 1st prize at the Alabama Conference of Theatre Festival! Central High School, (Woodstock, VA) was named Virginia State Champion for their production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. Congratulations! Rio Rancho High School (Rio Rancho, NM) was named New Mexico State Champion for their production of !Artistic Inspiration. Congratulations! Congratulations to Raymore-Peculier High School, Missouri Readers' Theatre State Champions for their performance of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. My name is Don Zolidis and I'm a playwright, screenwriter, and teacher living in the great state of Texas. (I'm required to say that.) I write comedies and dramas, although at the moment I seem to be mostly known for my comedies. As of December 2008, I've published 25 plays which have been produced over 650 times in 49 states and 12 countries. (Come on Delaware!) You might also have seen my work on the forensics circuit, where I am as popular as grilled cheese sandwiches.
Professionally, my work was appeared at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, Bloomington Playwrights Project, Dallas HUB Theatre, the Purple Rose Theatre, The Victory Theatre Center, Mirror Stage Ensemble, Expanded Arts NYC, Tinfish Theatre, Studio 360, and numerous other places. I'm also working on numerous commissions at the moment. Please feel free to browse this site, look at the samples of the plays, and find ways to buy them. (my babies need diapers!)
